Grandma's Surgery

Phils grandma went in for valve replacement surgery this morning. The surgery went well but as they were closing, she was loosing too much blood. They waited for her to stablize then have now taken her back into surgery to stop the bleeding. Thanks for all those that have been concerned about her and thanks dad for reminding me to put her name on the prayer roll. We will know in a few more hours how she is doing with the second surgery and I will post. Thanks again everyone!

Low Dough Show

So UVSC is celebrating going to UVU. They are having a concert to kick it all off. It is on Monday, June 30. Tickets are $4.93. They go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. Phil and I are going to buy a few tickets and wondered if anyone wanted to go? Playing is: Collin Raye, Joe Nichols and Josh Gracin. All of whom I love. If anyone is interested in joining the party, let me know!!

Horton Hears a Who

So, we are about ready to walk out the door to go and see Horton Hears a Who. I can't wait. I told the kids yesterday we were going with Holli, Hannah and Carter. All day I have heard, how much longer?, mom are we missing the movie?, can Grandma come?, What if they start without us? Holy Cow, if I hear any more I just might scream. And as Stacie knows, it does us no good to take Carson so lucky for us, he is staying home from this movie!! We will let you all know what we think but I am planning on it being pretty good.

Happy Easter

We are all looking forward to this Easter, next week. Yesterday I went out with Holli and we picked up Eater outfits for the kids. And thank you Poppy for helping us take some nice pictures of them. We put them in a slideshow so we can all enjoy!! We hope everyone has a wonderful Easter.

Carson with more things on his head

I don't really know why but this always makes me laugh. Here Carson is with MORE things on his head. I think why it is so funny is because he puts things on his head and thinks he can still see. So, it is always entertaining to watch him "continue" on with his day, sidelined by a few run-ins with the furniture.

So others will appriciate what they have......

I am only putting this up to help everyone (aka Stacie) appriciate the daughters that they have. Today Jenica realized she had school. So what did we do? Oh, we had to find the "perfect" dress then she "had" to wear tights. (Socks are not "pretty") After that she told me EXACTLY how her hair needed to be done and then it was time to change earings. Then to top it all off, she had to put on her 3 different lip glosses. (Thank you Jenn, she LOVES those. She doesn't go anywhere without them!!) After an hour of getting her just right, she is ready to go to school. I asked her what she wanted to eat for lunch when she informed me that she shouldn't eat because it would mess up her lip gloss. That was about another 20 min conversation telling her it was okay because we could reapply her lip gloss. So, when those of you have daughters that don't like their hair brushed, or to get dressed, think of the alternative and count your many blessings :)

Carson

It's haircut time again..... This is Carson's before picture.
JUST KIDDING.... we all know I am not ready to part with this hair yet, I am sure Carson is but until he is old enough to throw a fit, I win. P.S. This is NOT Phils choice. He says..... cut it. Not going to happen.

It Must Be Summer--

So, with the somewhat warm weather and the spring fever what is it time for???? That's right, haircuts!! We are ready for the summer to begin. We decided today was the day to shed the long hair. Hunter is so excited to get his head shaved every summer. This year is especially fun for him because he can't wait to show his class.

Some good news...

Phil LOVES to get his picture taken. I thought I would share some good news with everyone. So everyone knows that after Phil got laid off he started working for this company in American Fork called Tel-Electronics. We were happy with how close this was to home, how much we would save on gas, and now we get like 2 extra hours with him a day. We love it. The bonus is that on his lunch break he can even pick up Hunter from school and take Jenica to school. It works great. Well, today we found out that he would be getting a substantial raise. A lot more than I expected (but I didn't expect one in the first place) We had prayed really hard to make sure this was where Phil was supposed to be. And today we felt that confirmed. We were excited to share this good news with everyone. Thanks for everyones support while Phil looked for a new job.

Thanks Stacie--

Stacie has on her Blog How Many People Have Your Name. I thought that was really cool, this is the info I came up with....

Marci Garrett-- 7 of us
Phillip Garrett-- 145 of them
Hunter Garrett-- 6
Jenica Garrett-- 0 of them. Well, lets count Jenica. So 1.
Carson Garrett-- 5

It seems to me that Jenica is unreplaceable.... Guess we will keep her.

Jenica Reading

This is Jenica "reading". Normally she does very well reading this book, called Six Silly Sailors. I just happened to catch her on a time she couldn't really seem to get going. She tries to read to Carson but as we all know that 1 1/2 year olds don't have the patience required. I can't really blame him, sometimes I get the privilege of the hour or so it takes Jenica to tire of reading, and I can hardly pay attention.
